Prom has been set for Saturday, April 10th.

The Prom will be held at Highlands on the 4th.   Prom will begin at 8 pm and will last until midnight.  The Senior Walk Out is scheduled for 10 pm.

There will be a photographer from Bill Miller Photography to make pre-paid photo packages.  The cost will be $25 per package.

Tickets to prom will be $10 per person or $20 per couple.  Tickets will be on sale March 29th - April 7th.  Students may purchase prom tickets from Mrs. Whitaker in Room  23 or from Mrs. Scruggs in the library.

Prom  T-Shirts will be available for pre-order begining Monday, March 8th.  Students may order a t-shirt from JimTrotter, Sawyer Mullen, or Mrs. Goetz. Prom t-shirts will be on sale for one week only, so make sure you pre-order yours soon!

40^th  Class Reunion for the Classes of ’70 ’71 ‘72

The Walker High graduating classes of 1970, 1971, &1972 have scheduled a joint 40th high school reunion for June 4, 2011.

Eight Walker High faculty members attended a workshop to learn the procedures for using Skype and Blogging to enhance the activities in their classrooms.  The workshop was presented by the Jasper City Schools technology department.  Technology coordinator Susan Chandler served as the trainer for the workshop and she was assisted by David Fields and Ruben Tackett. 

Teachers  experimented with webcams and the Skype capabilities.  This training will allow classrooms  in our school to connect with other classrooms thourhgout the world in a unique video conferencing way.

Blogging was also taught using the Wordpress blogging portal.  Teachers created Wordpress accounts and discussed several ways that blogs can be used to communicate with students via the internet.

Teachers attending the workshop were given webcams to take back to their classrooms to use with the students.

On Monday, March 1st, the senior class dressed for their official group graduation photo and individual cap and gown photo packages.
